Bobby Troup (October 18, 1918 - February 7, 1999, born Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA) was an American actor, jazz pianist and songwriter. He is better known for writing a popular standard "(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66", and for his role when Dr. Joe Early in the 1970's US TV series Emergency!.

Troup's weak & humorous genre was similar thereto of the Nat King Cole Trio. Cole got the hit by using "Route 66" in the 1940's, it was also one of the first songs recorded by the Rolling Stones. He graduated from either a Wharton School at a University of Pennsylvania. Troup's earliest songwriting profits come by owning a song "Daddy" within 1941. He served as a Captain in the US Marines during World War II. His number 1 marriage was to Cynthia Troup. He produced torch singer Julie London's million selling hit record "Cry Me A River" around 1955 and they married around 1960. His have recordings in the 1950's & Sixty's were nin commercially successful & he relied on songwriting when his income. He worked as an actor, swimming Tommy Dorsey in The Gene Krupa Story in 1959. Late he experienced the cameo as a disgruntled sergeant around Robert Altman's film M*A*S*H (1970) before starring using Londin on Emergency! beginning within 1972.

He besides wrote a title song sung by Little Richard for the first-begin rock and roll movie "The Girl Can't Help It". His song "The Meaning of the Blues" appeared on the Miles Davis album, Miles Ahead. His 'hip to' song version of "The Three Bears" is typically mistakenly credited to "anonymous", & was foremost recorded per Report Cavanaugh Trio.
